Become a Development Partner

When you become a development partner you can take advantage of industry-leading software and tap into new markets. The Sage Construction and Real Estate Development Partner Program (DPP) provides Technical and marketing support for developers who integrate third-party solutions with Sage Construction and Real Estate software.

Development Partner Program
The Sage Construction and Real Estate (CRE) Development Partner Program (DPP) facilitates the integration and availability of third-party solutions with Sage Timberline Office and Sage Master Builder products within the Sage CRE community. Development partners are valued partners in extending the functionality of Sage CRE Software products and receive a variety of benefits, including technical and marketing support. As a result of technical support and documentation, development partners are able to independently develop software solutions that integrate with Sage CRE software products. The program’s marketing benefits help development partners introduce and effectively promote these solutions through Sage CRE's sales channel of independent Business Partners.

The Development Partner Program also supports customers who want to customize and extend their Sage CRE software functionality within their organizations. Customers enroll in the program as a Customer Development Partner. The solutions or customizations developed by customer development partners are licensed for internal use only and may not be commercialized. Customers have the ability to outsource their development, but remain legally liable for any attempt to commercialize work created for their companies by their chosen developer.

Customers must be active on a support and maintenance plan for the Sage CRE products they use prior to applying for the program. If admitted to the program, customers receive many of the program's technical benefits, but are not eligible for the program's marketing benefits.

Technical Benefits
Development partners receive numerous technical benefits, such as access to Sage Construction and Real Estate software and Software Development Kits (SDKs), to help them integrate their solutions with our products. Benefits include:

  • A licensed, not-for-resale copy of Sage Construction and Real Estate software for integrating, testing and demonstrating their solutions. LNFR products are not licensed for in-house use.
  • Access to technical tools and documentation, such as the SDK, sample code, and testing tools.
  • Access to early release versions of the software. Access to Sage Software Anytime Learning sessions and Online Development Partner Training*.
  • Access to the online Technical Support Knowledgebase. Participation in an online developers’ forum to share knowledge with peers.
  • Complimentary registrations for the annual Sage CRE Development Partner Symposium
  • Technical support.

Marketing Benefits
Once your product is available and reference-able, the Development Partner Program provides ongoing marketing opportunities to effectively market your third-party product to our extensive sales channel of independent Business Partners. Marketing benefits are not applicable to the Customer Development Partner Program. Benefits include:

  • Introduction to Sage CRE Sales Management and coaching feedback regarding the sales programs and positioning you’ll use when building your network of Sage CRE business partners.
  • Invitation to participate in the Sage Software business partner, consultant, and customer conferences. (Exhibitor and sponsorship fees apply.)
  • Email communication opportunities to our sales channel of business partners. (Fees apply.)
  • Opportunity to showcase your products and sales programs within our online development partner showcase sessions for business partners and for future reference within our online recording library*.
  • Inclusion within our Business Partner Sales Reference Guide.*
  • Use of Sage Software Development Partner logos for your Web site and marketing materials.

Requirements
We are committed to offering products and services that meet the needs of the markets we serve, and are interested in evaluating potential partnerships that help us to most effectively do so. Any developer may apply to join the Sage CRE Development Partner Program if the following requirements are met:

  • Products and integrations developed must add value by extending the functionality of Sage CRE software.
  • Products offered by the developer must not compete with Sage CRE software.
  • The developer must be willing to develop a sales program and engage the Sage CRE sales channel of independent business partners when working with prospective and existing Sage CRE customers.
  • The developer must be willing to supply a copy of their software and literature to program management, if requested, at no charge.
  • The developer must be able to provide technical support and maintenance for the products and integrations they are proposing for inclusion within the Sage CRE Development Partner Program.
  • The developer must submit a completed application including reference accounts representing product quality, service and support for their product(s), and be willing to demonstrate their product(s) upon request to Sage personnel and to the Sage CRE Business Partner Advisory Council without non-disclosure agreements. Developer products are evaluated for the program on a product-by-product basis.
  • If accepted into the program, the developer must be willing to sign the Sage CRE Development Partner SDK Agreement and pay associated program fees.
  • If accepted into the program, the developer agrees to keep their approved products and integrations compatible with the latest versions of Sage CRE software.
  • If accepted into the program, the developer agrees to comply with the Sage CRE Development Partner Program annual renewal process - supplying requested information prior to renewal and agreeing to pay renewal fees within 30 days of payment request if renewal is approved.
